Welcome to our ProAm Croquet Website! Why ProAm Croquet? ProAm Croquet is a Small Family Business Sport. Garden Croquet was originally a Sport for the Landed Gentry. They had the time and money to play in their own garden. Now, Small Business Owners and Professionals are the "Landed Gentry". Most have their own garden lawns, and can manage and finance their familys' free time to play ProAm Croquet. They can afford to Sponsor their own ProAm Croquet Tournaments and be Sponsored Competitors anywhere in the world. ProAm - Professional Amateurs ProAm Croquet teaches, not only the "Skills" needed to move a ball through a bunch of hoops, but also the "Tactics" (management) of those Skills. Furthermore, ProAm Croquet players have to learn the "Strategy" (Planning and Conduct) of this War Game. Believe it! ProAm Croquet is a War Game between opposed players. Small Family Business is also a "War Game" with winners and loosers. Just the names have been changed. "Tactics" equates as Management and "Strategy" (Planning and Conduct) equates to the Business Directors. In just these two War Games, Croquet and Small Family Business are all three elements necessary to belong to the one person. There are no Captains and no Coaches or Directors once the Sport or Business War begins. There are historic, social links between ProAm Croquet, Small Family Business, Sponsorships, Tax Planning and Seminars. These links are best illustrated in the potted biography, on this Website, of Australia's Sir MacPherson Mac Robertson KBE, entreprenural Confection Manufacture (MacRobertson Chocolates) and Miller-Robertson Airways owner. He was responsible for having Sport Sponsorships made a Tax Deduction (Privy Council 1935) which has grown into a multi-billion dollar part of marketing. He is remembered still, by Croquet's internationally famous *"MacRobertson Shield". This biography was recently published by the United States Croquet Association for the 2003 "MacRob" in Palm Beach Florida USA. Although the "Skills" of various occupations are different, the basic Management "Tactics" and the "Strategy" of Directors are all the same. In Australia 80% of Small Business go broke in three years. Most have their needed "Skills" (some highly skilled) but they lack either, Managemet "Tactics" but more than likely, the "Strategy" of Big Business Directorship. ProAm Croquet is 10% luck, 20% Skill, 30% Tactics, 40% Strategy and 50% Psychology. The same elements as required for a Small Family Business So learn how the Sport of ProAm Croquet is played with Skill, Tactics and Strategy using the Directories below. Consider also, that you might need a Small Family Business to Play ProAm Croquet with a Sponsor to help finance your new adrenaline addiction. ProAm Croquet and Small Business are related as both games require, not only a Trade or Professional "Skill" but also the same "Tactics of Management" and "Strategy of Directors". Some people have complained that Tax Planning - avoiding or minimising Income Tax - is *"unfair" (refer Prime Minister John Howard). They even consider that Robbing Banks legally, is wrong. Planning to have the Toyota Vampire Motor Company sponsor ProAm Croquet at the Wanaka Country Club is wrong. All of these options - Tax Planning, MacRobbing Banks legally, and using Sponsorships for the benefit of the family, are just some of the optional "Strategies". They are required "Strategies" to be mastered for either competing in ProAm Croquet or the Small Family Business. *If your feelings are "hurt" by this considered "unfairness", consider the VAMPIRE Parable. Most people feel "hurt" when they loose at Croquet or Business but all recover. They learn even loosing is just part of the learning process of ProAm Croquet "Strategy".
