Croquet Cannons:
Top Guns: Usually, one ball has been Roqueted behind a one yard line ball and must then touch the other on being measured in. The Roqueted ball must be placed in position for the Croquet shot and not moved again. The other balls are "balls in hand". The Target ball is to touch the Croquet ball and the Striker ball must touch Croqueted - but not (NOT) the Target ball.
NB Balls meant to touch must indeed,
touch. The object then, is to split the balls so that the Croqueted ball goes to Pioneer ("next Hoop plus one") and Target ball is rushed to Pilot the next Hoop - for an easy Hoop approach. (1) From 1st Corner: To Pioneer No 2 Hoop and Rush No 1 Hoop: Line up
Croquet ball and Striker to No 2 Hoop with 1.25inchs (30mm) to right
for Rush on Target ball: (2) From 2nd Corner: To Pioneer No 2 hoop and rush No 1 hoop: Line up
croquet ball and striker to No 6 hoop with 1/2inch (12mm)to right for Rush:
(3) From 3rd Corner:
To No 1 Hoop almost impossible - unless one uses a golf type shot. A hammer
shot might/could wreck an ankle - foul!

(4) From 4th Corner:
To Pioneer No 2 Hoop and Rush No 1 Hoop: Line up Croquet ball and Striker
to two feet (600mm) right of No 2 Hoop with 1.25inches (30mm) to left of the
Rush ball: (*Standard corner shots are mirror image and can be adapted for opposite situations with reverse lineups and aims) With
practice from corners, midway boundary shots can be produced. Military Application If you can perfect these Cannon shots the Royal Australian Air Force will offer you employment to instruct their FA18 Hornet Pilots to shoot better than they do now.

Force Base, NSW Canadian Air Force FA18 Fighter Pilots could not hit a plastic balloon the size of a ten story building with their cannons. However, they did beat the USAF Pilots for Top Gun position in 1998. Tom Cruise was absent on duty in Hollywood was the main reason for their defeat. These Australian RAAF Pilots should practice with Croquet Cannons before entering the Top Gun competition.
